Easi-Chock Type 1
The Easi-Chock Type 1 is a compact, portable door security device designed to work with standard lever and knob handles. When positioned at 90° directly beneath the door handle, it applies upward pressure to the handle, helping to keep the door latch fully engaged in the strike plate.
How It Works
By supporting the handle and resisting downward or inward force, the Easi-Chock Type 1 makes it significantly harder to depress the handle or manipulate the latch, increasing resistance to forced entry and helping to prevent the door from being easily breached. It's ideal as an additional layer of security for internal or external doors throughout the vessel.
Forced Entry Resistance
Adds significant resistance to kicking, ramming, or levering a door. The force path is redirected into the frame and deck, making breach attempts harder and slower.
Lock Redundancy
If the primary lock, latch, or handle is weak, damaged, or easily bypassed, the Easi-Chock provides a secondary physical restraint. Especially useful on older doors that cannot be quickly upgraded.
Rapid Deployment
Engaged or removed quickly by hand, without tools. Supports rapid security posture changes during an incident or when moving into a higher risk area.
Safety and Compliance
The Easi-Chock must never block designated emergency exits where it could delay evacuation or fire response.
Procedures must ensure the Easi-Chock is easily removable from the safe side and that all crew are trained in when to use it and when not to.
The Easi-Chock does not change fire-door integrity or prevent the door from closing fully when not in use.
